It was very difficult picking a 'track of the week' this week, so I've chosen a track off two (very different and actually not very electronic) albums instead.
For the day: Caro Emerald's Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor (we7 link), is 1940s jazz with a contemporary twist. It's already doing extremely well in the Dutch charts, and now BBC Radio 2 have put her song 'That Man' on their 'A' playlist it seems like it's set to infiltrate the UK charts too.
For the evening: Jonathan Jeremiah's Solitary Man (we7 link), is an album that shows that the days of the vocalist is not yet numbered. What makes it especially great is the strings - I usually like strings alongside electronic music (i.e. much of Pet Shop Boys output), but their placing here, with really only Jonathan's voice and an acoustic guitar, makes for very pleasant listening (see 'How Half-Heartedly We Behave'). If you like Nick Drake then I'll bet you'll like this.
