My Favourite Pet Shop Boys Tracks (10 - 6)

Now that we're up to the top 10, I'm going to leave a little paragraph about why each of these tracks deserve to be in this half of the list.

10. Left to My Own Devices (1988)

The strings on this track definitely make it special, add to that the very English rap, and the famous "Che Guevara and Debussy to a disco beat" line, and you've got a hit.

9. What Have I Done to Deserve This? (1987)

This is a great duet that any band would be pleased to have in their repertoire - especially with someone as iconic Dusty Springfield.

8. Being Boring (1990)

The dreamy synths serve as a lush backdrop to what is really a melancholic track, chiefly dealing with the death of one of Neil's friends to AIDS.

7. Suburbia (1986)

I love the bassline (which incidentally Chris says is "virtually the same" as Madonna's Into the Groove), and the barking dogs, explosions, and police car sound effects add character.

6. West End Girls (1985)*

It had to come up sooner or later. The bass riff is a classic and their English rapping was first seen here, but while it is a very good song, I think it is one that has been overplayed, so "only" makes it to number 6 on this list.
