Artist to Watch in 2011: May68

According to the NME, May68 create songs that are "tight and sleek disco nuggets, glamorous and totally accessible" - and I'm inclined to agree. I was first introduced to their dance-floor production with My Ways - a track that's one part disco and two parts electro (not a bad combination as it turns out) - and I've been playing their tracks on repeat ever since.

My only criticism (and it's not much of criticism, as they are only really just starting out) is that there hasn't been too much progression in their sound; The Prisoner for example, could have been happily named My Ways (part II) - which, as My Ways is such a great song, isn't such a terrible thing. Despite this, the extended mix of The Prisoner is great, with a longer thumping bassline and more beepy effects, and wouldn't feel out of place next to a Chew Lips set-list (see Salt Air).
